03/26/15 - Two Title Defences and A New Luchacore Champion!
MATHIS SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDS TITLE... TWICE!
At the 3/25 "Amped" taping, rookie sensation Zachary Wentz received the opportunity of a lifetime to challenge Ron Mathis for his Rockstar Pro Championship. Wentz rose to the occasion and brought the fight to Mathis but, in the end, the young, budding star was outmatched by the much more experienced Champion.
After his victory, "the Relentless One" went on a long, not-suitable-for-television tirade, berating the Rockstar Nation. Mathis continued to insult the fans as they slowly filed out of Rockstar Pro Arena, tired of hearing the Champion's foul-mouthed rant. Someone else got tired of hearing it, too: former Rockstar Pro Champion Jake Crist!
Crist jumped in the ring and went nose-to-nose with Mathis! After a heated exchange of words, the two treated the remaining fans in the building to a surprise, unannounced, impromptu title re-match! Jake wasn't even dressed for competition and took on the Champion in his workout sweats! After an incredible back & forth match, Mathis managed to roll Jake up for a three-count.
In one night, Ron Mathis defeated both Rockstar's top Rookie-of-the-Year candidate AND Rockstar's "Franchise player." Who will be able to stop the relentless Champion? Up next for Mathis: King of the Death Match "Bulldozer" Matt Tremont on April 3rd at "Spring Break!"
NEW AMERICAN LUCHACORE CHAMPION!
At the 3/25 "Amped" taping, former Rockstar Pro Champion & "Best of the Best" winner Alex Colon defeated Dave Crist via count-out. Under American Luchacore rules, competitors are allowed a referee's standing 20-count outside the ring before they are counted out but the title can change hands on a count-out or disqualification.
JTD Inc. capitalized on this technicality and Colon is, once again, the American Luchacore Champion. Colon has dominated the American Luchacore Division, holding the Championship more times than anyone in Rockstar Pro history.
